Stella Rae was founded in 2000, by Sara Werner, a first grade school teacher in New Orleans and Allison Hilder who is a student, as well as Sara's best friend.

Together, the friends share a love of beautiful packaging, a deep respect for the health of our earth and our bodies, and a desire to help create change by doing something that they love.

Stella Rae began with a passion for creating beautiful, natural products that heal and nourish both your skin and your life. They researched, tested and tested again. In the process, a loyal following of friends and neighbors began to grow, and word began to spread. Sara has always had a business sense and an entrepreneurial spirit, so offering their products to others came naturally. One year and some days later, Stella Rae was open for business.

From their small beginnings at the French Market to the birth of their website, the girls have always done all the work, from the creation of the soap or candle, to the shipping and packaging at the end, and pride themselves on their customer service.

A portion of all profits is donated to various charities, and products are always chosen with their ecological footprint in mind.

Every product was created with love and care, from their eco-friendly soy wax candles to their pure and healing natural soaps.

Their studio is, and always will be, in New Orleans, a city we all hold very dear to our hearts. Help us to heal our city, and our spirits, one soap, one candle at a time.
